Community Impact

The United Way of Columbia and Greene Counties is accepting applications for funding of local programs that serve Columbia and Greene Counties.

The purpose of this funding is to aid and stimulate four “community impact areas” that:

  1. Help Children and Youth Succeed through enhanced childcare services, increasing children's enrollment in healthcare programs (including healthcare education and recreation), expanding youth involvement in community service and leadership and increasing school attendance.
  2. Strengthen and Support Families by increasing access to affordable family service and support programs, collaborating with public and private organizations to promote sustained quality employment, career opportunities, and mental health.
  3. Build Vital & Safe Neighborhoods, leading community building efforts, supporting neighborhood led public and private safety initiatives, and supporting resident-lead efforts to strengthen schools and create new community facilities.
  4. Aid Vulnerable and Aging Individual’s Needs, providing access to comprehensive health care services that support independence, assist access to health care for uninsured and under insured individuals and for individuals facing crises.

Applications are available for any 501(c)3 tax-exempt non-profit organization which is impacting at least one of the four areas described above in Columbia and Greene counties.

Applications for funding can be requested by calling the office of The United Way of Columbia and Greene Counties at (518) 943-3285, or e-mailing Kathy Thibeault at kathy@henkewarren.com.

Upon submittal of a completed application, the applicant will be contacted to schedule an interview with the Community Investment Committee. Once the Community Investment Committee has reviewed and met with applicants, their final decisions for funding will be made, and all applicants will be notified of their funding status.
